INL researcher wins award for best thesis

Jose Lado has received the award from the Solid State Physics Group (GEFES) of the Spanish Royal Society of Physics for the best PhD thesis in condensed matter physics presented in Spain during the academic year 2015-16.

INL receives Medal of Honour from the City of Braga

The INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory was delighted to be presented with the Medal of Honour of the City of Braga.

INL Director General, Lars Montelius, received the medal on behalf of the institution. The ceremony took place in the Theatro Circo on the day of S. Geraldo, the city’s patron, December 5th.

The President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, visited INL

The President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, visited INL this November 25th.

INL Director General, Lars Montelius, and Deputy Director General, Paulo Freitas, welcomed the President. Following a short presentation about INL and the impact it has on the regional development, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa visited different laboratories.

In an open meeting with the President, INL researchers and invited companies had the opportunity to briefly talk about their fields of research and collaborations.

Nigerian Minister of Science visited INL

Nigerian Minister of Science and Technology Ogbonnaya Onu visited INL. Deputy Director general of INL, Paulo Freitas, hosted the visit, that was also accompanied by the Susana Catita, advisor for the Portuguese Ministry for Science Technology and Higher Education.

The Nigerian Minister learned about the INL Scientific Programme and capabilities.
