Flávia Sousa holds a BSc and MSc degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, from the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde-Norte, Portugal. Since 2015, Flavia is a PhD student in Biomedical Sciences from the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS, University of Porto, Portugal), under supervision of Dr. Bruno Sarmento, head of the Nanomedicines and Translational Drug Delivery group at i3S/INEB, and in collaboration with the Cell Mechanics laboratory at INL, under supervision of Dr. Inês Mendes Pinto.
Flavia´s PhD thesis aims to develop selective antiangiogenic therapies based on bevacizumab-loaded PLGA nanoparticles and its controlled release.
