Microfabrication and Exploratory Nanotechnology
Mariana Antunes is a Cleanroom Research Engineer in Micro and Nanofabrication Department at International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), Braga. Mariana, with a strong technical background in Biomedical Engineering, received a Master degree in Bioengineering and Nanosystems from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon. During the Master degree, she joined the spintronic group and magnetic sensors group at the Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores Microsistemas e Nanotecnologias (INESC-MN), Lisbon, where she became a research engineer involved in projects that consisted in the integration of polymerase chain reaction in a magnetoresistive biochip. At 2015, she was challenged to integrate a medtech start-up, Magnomics, as Process Engineer responsible for the microfabrication process of magnetoresistive sensors biochips, which was the core technology of the company. She has an extensive experience and she is an expert in all aspects of micro and nanofabrication technologies and microfluidic techniques from the wafer level to a fully functional device.
