Tangyou Sun joined the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) as a NanoTRAINforGrowth COFUND Research Fellow in November 2015. He will work on the light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with quantized materials (quantum dots and/or metal nanoclusters) and their use in general lighting, sensing and detecting in INL.
Tangyou Sun received his BS degree from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in 2009. After that, he went to Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) as a PhD student of a five-year educational system in Optical Engineering. He received his PhD degree from HUST in 2014 supervised by Prof. Zhi-Mou Xu and Prof. Wen Liu. Tangyou Sun has not only applied the photonic crystal (PC) and nanoimprint lithography (NIL) technologies for high light extraction efficiency study of LEDs, but also developed the anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) based sub-wavelength structure (SWS) technologies, and used them to the antireflection fields of optoelectronic devices. As first- and co-author, he has published 28 papers to the international peer-reviewed journals and more than 10 Chinese patents.
