IP Protection and Policy

INL IPR Policy is primary thought for INL employees previously considered and approved in INL Staff Rules

If the invention is determined to meet the criteria for patentability, INL files a patent application with the appropriate Patent Office, which publishes patent applications 18 months after initial filing. If the invention requires further development and validation before a patent is filed, INL-TTM will lead the process, providing specific advice at critical points of the application.
