Integrated Micro and Nanotechnologies
Alex Dante works as a Research Fellow in the Integrated Micro and Nanotechnologies Research Group at INL. His research is focused on the development of digital and analog electronic circuits and systems for signal generation, acquisition, and processing for a variety of sensors and related instrumentation. His research interests include photonics, optoelectronics, micro- and nanodevices applied to novel physical and biochemical sensors.
He obtained his PhD degree in electrical engineering with emphasis in microelectronics and optoelectronics from the University of Campinas (Brazil) in 2016. His research was focused on the development of an optical high-voltage sensor based on fiber optics. As a result of that research, he is the co-inventor of an international patent on a novel high-voltage measurement technology. Before joining INL, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Photonics and Instrumentation Laboratory of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). During his fellowship, he worked on modelling, design, and development of optical fiber sensors applied to temperature, current and voltage monitoring, as well as in the development of optical fiber biosensors.
