Isabel Oliveira joined the Nanochemistry group at INL as a Research Fellow in December 2021. She will develop paint functional additives based on nanomaterials with infrared reflective properties.

She graduated in Biology (2011), and holds a master´s degree in Human Evolution and Biology at the Laboratory of Biochemistry Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (2013), both from the University of Coimbra and PhD in Tissue Engineering, Medicine Regenerative and Stem cells (2021) in 3B`s Research Group, University of Minho. Her experience is mainly in the field of biomedical research. The PhD thesis focused on developing functionalized biomaterials based on targeted and controlled drug delivery for treating inflammation in Rheumatoid Arthritis patients. During this period, she had the great opportunity to spend 6 months at the Department of Polymer Nanoscience and Polymer BIN Research Centre, Chonbuk National University, Jeonju, Republic of Korea. In June 2021, she was enrolled in the NanoCAT project in the Laboratory of Process Engineering, Environment, Biotechnology and Energy at the University of Porto. She worked with the functionalization of surfaces to prevent bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation on medical devices.
