Ivone Pinheiro
Research Fellow
Water Quality
Ivone joined INL as a research fellow in Water Quality Research Group, Department of Life Sciences. She works in ACUINANO project in monitoring the presence and effects of engineered inorganic nanoparticles in aquaculture products, under Begoña Espiña’s supervision.
Ivone has graduation in Applied Biology from the University of Minho (Braga, Portugal) and a Master degree in Environmental Contamination and Toxicology from ICBAS and Faculty of Sciences from University of Porto (Porto-Portugal). Her MSc thesis was focused on in vitro toxicology assays with primary cell culture fish hepatocytes to evaluate the effects of estrogens and peroxisome proliferators in the hepatic peroxisomes.
