Ultrafast Bio- and Nanophotonics
João is a junior research fellow at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga, Portugal (2020-now). He works at the Ultrafast Bio- and Nanophotonics and is part of the “ExtreMED: Extreme Ultrashort Pulses for Advanced Medical Applications and Diagnostics research project” The project is inserted in a multidisciplinary field at the interface between nonlinear optics, material sciences, bioimaging and medical research
The ultimate goal of the project is the development of a nonlinear microscope system for the study of nanoparticles using pulse shapers where the findings will be applied for bioimaging and nanomedicine research.
He has a Bachelor degree in Molecular and Cell Biology (2013-2016) and a Master degree in Molecular Genetics and Biomedicine (2016-2018) both by Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade nova de lisboa.
