Atomic Structure-Composition of Materials

Kang is currently a Ph.D student in the Materials Science and Engineering program in the University of Texas at Austin. His work is focused on using varies advanced transmission electron microscopy techniques (aberration corrected TEM and STEM, EDX, EELS and 3D TEM) to characterize energy materials, including Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC), Li-ion battery and copper interconnects. Moreover, he has extensive knowledge in ultramicrotome, cross-sectional FIB, planar view FIB and image segmentation for 3-D reconstruction.
