Marta Ribeiro is a Research Fellow in the Nanomedicine Group within the Department of Life Sciences at INL. Her research project is mainly focused on the development of novel advanced functional hydrogels for disease therapy and theranostics.
Marta Ribeiro obtained her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, work dedicated to the design and development of multifunctional composite hydrogels to promote bone tissue regeneration and impair microbial adhesion. Her PhD has been done in collaboration with the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (INEB)/Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S) (Portugal), University of Campinas (Brazil) and University of Basque Country/ Institute for Polymer Materials (POLYMAT) (Spain).
