Stefania Scialla joined Manuel Bañobre’s Group as a post-doctoral research fellow. Her research is focused on the development and validation of magnetic nanocomposites for cancer theranostics.
She is a bachelor in Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Naples (Italy) and she received her PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of Salento (Lecce) in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Alessandro Sannino. During her PhD period, she focused on the development of nanoceramics and 3D polymer-based scaffolds functionalized with iron-oxide nanoparticles, which can be used as fillers or implanted scaffolds for bone defects regeneration.
She carried out a postdoctoral training at the Institute of Nanotechnology – National Council Research (Lecce – Italy) to produce materials for biomedical application starting from industrial waste.
