Our Campus

The INL campus is set in a 38,000 m2 area of land in one of the best parts of Braga, close to the Gualtar campus of Minho University, extending along one of the main city avenues up to the East River, and next to municipal sport and leisure grounds and a residential neighbourhood.

The Laboratory is planned for 200 scientists, about 100 PhD students, and supporting technical and administrative staff.

The built area represents about 26,000 m2, comprising  a social building of around 2,700 m2, advanced special installations and several laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment, among which will be a class 100 Central Micro and Nanofabrication Cleanroom of circa 700 m2.

INL is more than just a scientific area, it is a place where you can find different spaces to enjoy yourself, relax and take part in exciting experiences whilst at work while. Among others, INL offers an auditorium to accommodate approximately 200 people, a generous reception area, beautifully landscaped grounds and a small central library with physical documentation and access to electronic documents not available outside the INL network, as well as internet access thoughout. In addition, there are numerous leisure spots scattered around the open office areas, that are always convenient places to read and share experiences.

Background

State-of-the-art research facilities, exclusively dedicated to nanoscience: nanocharacterization, system & IC design solutions, biological sciences, nanofabrication & processes and nanomaterial synthesis.

A 200 seat auditorium, a library, a social building with fitness center, kindergarten, 20 guest rooms and more than 4,600 m2 of public areas scattered around the campus.
