Daniel Rocha
Software Engineer

Daniel Rocha is a PhD Research Engineer at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL). His work focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision and Robotics, contributing to the development of intelligent technologies for scientific research, advanced sensing, automation and industrial applications.
At INL, he contributes to multidisciplinary R&D activities through the development and integration of AI, Computer Vision, Robotics, sensing and automation technologies. His responsibilities include scientific project management, technical coordination of R&D activities, student support and supervision within applied engineering research projects, and the management of AI High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure supporting research and technology development.
Daniel obtained his PhD in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Minho. His doctoral research focused on assistive technologies for blind people, applying Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision techniques to support clothing identification and management. He is also an Invited Assistant Professor at IPCA and collaborates with the ALGORITMI Research Centre and the 2Ai Laboratory.
