Ana Vieira
Application & Systems Integration Engineer

Ana finished her bachelor's degree in Biochemistry in 2016 and holds a master's degree in Biophysics and Bionanosystems since 2018, at the University of Minho. Her master's thesis was based on the functionalization of nanoliposomes for the delivery of a marine toxin to a specific target, to be used in prostate and breast cancer treatment. As a junior research fellow at INL, she worked on multifunctional materials for the removal of microorganisms from water, the development of a portable SERS-based detection system for hydrogen sulfide, the use of COFs for off-flavours removal from water and the performance of a safety profile study of different nanomaterials. Now she will focus on the detection of Antibiotics by surface-enhanced Raman scattering using hybrid composites based on covalent organic frameworks.
