Dr Aritz Retolaza is an Application & System Integration Engineer at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga (2021-now). He works within the Hanay Group, and his research focuses on developing flexible thin-film-based sensors for muscular rehabilitation applications. 

Aritz holds a PhD in Chemistry Science (Polymer Science) from the University of the Basque Country (Spain, 1999-2004). He worked at Tekniker (Eibar, Spain) for 15 years (2005-2020), where he acquired experience in cleanroom technologies, such as photolithography, NIL and electroplating, and characterisation techniques, such as SEM and profilometry. During his work at INL, he has also acquired experience in sputtering technologies and printing technologies, such as syringe-dispensing, and characterisation techniques such as XRD or electrical characterisation. Aritz has more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and one patent, and has given 8 conference talks.
