Simão Teixeira
Postdoctoral Researcher

Simão Teixeira is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Domingues Research Group, working on ERC Grant FORTIFy and FCT project Wi-Pi. His research centers on the synthesis of molecularly imprinted nanoparticles for abiotic protein recognition, aiming to control stem cell responses. He integrates these systems with magnetic technologies in biomimetic tissue constructs for regenerative therapies targeting musculoskeletal disorders, as well as in vitro models to advance understanding of physiological and pathological processes in the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
Simão holds a degree in Bioengineering – Molecular Biotechnology from the University of Porto (2017) and earned his PhD in Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells from the University of Minho (2024), with research conducted at 3B's Research Group and secondments at UCL and ETH Zurich. He contributed to projects such as ERC MagTendon and Twinning project Achilles, served as an I3B student representative at UMinho Doctoral College (2020–22), co-organised five international conferences, and has authored five Q1 publications (four as first author), one patent, and 14 conference presentations, receiving multiple awards.
