Filipa Silva

Research Assistant

Salomé Research Group

Ana Filipa Silva is a Research Assistant working on the Salomé Research Group. Her current research focuses on the characterization and degradation of lithium-ion batteries, using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and charge/discharge cycling to investigate battery performance over time. With a strong foundation in analytical chemistry and materials science, Filipa brings both technical skills and scientific curiosity to her current role, supporting research activities within the group.

Filipa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Techniques for Chemical Characterisation and Analysis, both from the University of Minho. Her academic journey has been marked by hands-on research in environmental catalysis and porous materials, including her Master's thesis at the INL on MOF-based porous structures for pesticide removal from water. Filipa has experience in key chemical analysis and characterisation techniques, including XRD, SEM, FTIR-ATR, and DLS, and has participated in multiple scientific events, such as the INL Annual Research Symposium and the CarboCat International Symposium.
