Ana Hortelao is a Research Fellow at INL. Her research work focuses on the development of novel drug delivery and theranostic systems, exploiting nanomaterials and surface engineering to attain smart delivery vehicles capable of efficient and localized therapy. She has a BSc and MSc in Biology and Biophysics from the University of Minho and a PhD in Nanosciences from the University of Barcelona. She has worked in several internationally renowned research institutions, such as the Institute of Bioengineering of Catalonia, CNRS and Max Planck Institute. Apart from her fundamental research background, she also has experience in industrial settings, both in scientific and leading positions.
