André Violas
Application & Systems Integration Engineer
André is an Application & Systems Integration Engineer at INL within the Salomé Research Group. His work focuses on developing and integrating advanced nanofabrication strategies for CIGS-based solar cells, aiming to enhance light harvesting in the device and increase expertise in the scientific field. At INL’s cleanroom facilities, he designs and implements nanoengineered novel architectures using scalable, industry-compatible techniques to improve device performance and reliability. Supporting optoelectronic simulations guides André's work.
He holds an MSc in Micro and Nanotechnology Engineering and is completing a PhD in collaboration with the Aveiro and Uppsala Universities and INL. His academic background includes extensive experience in thin-film photovoltaics, nanoimprint lithography, optoelectronic characterisation, and cleanroom microfabrication. The latest publications reflect the work performed by André in his PhD.
