Water Quality

Bruna Alves is a Research Fellow in the Water Quality Research Group under the supervision of Laura Rodriguez-Lorenzo. She works in the FRONTSH1P project (https://frontsh1p.eu/), where her research focuses on developing innovative Portable Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-based systems for dissolved CO2 detection in microalgae-based wastewater systems.

Bruna holds a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, completed in 2022, specializing in Biosystems. She developed her Master’s thesis with the University of Coimbra and the University of BOKU, Austria, focusing on lignin modification and the production and characterization of lignin-based bioaerogels.
