Carleane Reis

Postdoctoral Researcher

Salomé Research Group

At INL, I work as a researcher in the field of electrochemical energy storage, focusing on the characterisation and degradation of lithium-ion batteries. My research involves electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), charge/discharge cycling, and data analysis to understand battery performance over time. I am particularly interested in using impedance data to develop new strategies for assessing the health status and ageing mechanisms of commercial battery cells.

I have a PhD in Physics, with experience in applied electrochemistry, including supercapacitors, biosensors, conductive polymers, and electrochemical interfaces (metal/electrolyte, semiconductor/electrolyte). Throughout my academic career, I have developed expertise in EIS and other electrochemical techniques, combining experimental work with data-driven analysis. I have collaborated with multidisciplinary teams in physics and chemistry to support the development of energy-related technologies.
