Hello. My name is Catarina Gomes. I am a staff member at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), working within the Kolen´ko Group. My research focuses on producing coatings with protection against chemical attack from acids and aldehydes. 

In 2019, I enrolled in the biochemistry degree at the University of Minho. During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to improve my knowledge in chemistry and biology, as well as to put into practice various laboratory activities. After completing, my degree I decided to work for one year in the field. I worked at Zendal, a pharmaceutical industry and at Doureca, a galvanic industry. In 2023, I started my master's in Techniques for chemical characterisation and analysis, where I had the opportunity to complete an internship at INL, developing a project on fireproof coating.
