Isabel Calejo

Isabel Calejo is a Research Fellow at INL in the Food Processing and Nutrition Group. Her main research topic is cellular agriculture, and she focuses on personalized food solutions that promote health and well-being.

Isabel holds a Ph.D. in Tissue Engineering, Stem Cells, and Regenerative Medicine from 3B’s Research Group, University of Minho. She also has a Master’s degree in Forensic Sciences from the University of Porto and a Bachelor's in Bioengineering from the Portuguese Catholic University. Her extensive academic training in bioengineering and molecular biology provides a robust foundation for her research in cellular agriculture and food science, driving her contributions toward the future of personalized nutrition. At the lab bench, as a Ph.D. student and Post-doc fellow, she has supervised PhD and MSC students of different nationalities and ages, having this cooperation resulted in several scientific papers. Isabel Calejo has 2 book chapters, 3 reviews, and 18 articles in Q1 peer-reviewed international journals. Moreover, she is the author/co-author of >20 communications in international scientific meetings.
