José Fernandes
Staff Researcher

José Fernandes is a Research Scientist in the Nanofabrication, Optoelectronics, and Energy Applications Group, where he focuses on developing advanced cleanroom processes for innovative optoelectronic devices.
He earned his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minho in 2019, specializing in micro- and nanofabrication.
With a decade of experience at the INL Cleanroom, José has held various roles within the Micro- and Nanofabrication Facility.
This extensive hands-on experience has equipped him with deep expertise in micro- and nanofabrication technologies, enabling him to support researchers and external clients in integrating and producing their prototypes.
