Leonardo Sbrascini
Postdoctoral Researcher

Dr. Leonardo Sbrascini is a Postdoctoral Researcher within the Muñoz Group (Nanomaterials for Energy Storage and Conversion, NESC) at INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory. His current research focuses on the synthesis and development of cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries (PBAs and polyanionic).
He obtained his PhD at the University of Camerino under the supervision of Prof. Francesco Nobili, where he worked on the synthesis and characterization of sustainable electrode materials for Li- and Na-ion batteries, spanning from different types of anodic (intercalation, conversion and alloying) and cathodic (layered oxides and PBA) technologies. He also focused on advanced characterization of redox phenomena based on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and calculation of the distribution of relaxation times function (DRT). During his PhD, he spent 5 months at KIT – Karlsruhe Institute of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Sonia Dsoke, where he worked on the use of presodiation additives for Na-ion full cells fabrication.
He published more than 10 papers in International peer-reviewed journals and participated to National/International conferences with 9 oral contributions.
