Alfaro-Moreno Research Group

Maria is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Alfaro-Moreno Research Group.

She holds a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from "Grigore T. Popa" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania, and a PhD in Sustainable Chemistry from the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Porto. Her doctoral research focused on the safety evaluation of metallic nanoparticles for biomedical applications, utilizing both in vitro and in vivo approaches.

Maria's postdoctoral journey began at the Faculty of Science and Technology at the New University of Lisbon and continued at the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Porto. Her work has been centered on the development of nanobiosensors for disease diagnosis and nowdays it combines nanomaterial synthesis, characterization, and applications with safety evaluations.
