Nuno Faria da Costa joined the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory – INL in May 2025 as a Research Assistant for the Espiña research group. His research focuses on the toxicity assessment of emergent contaminants (nanomaterials, plant protection products, endocrine-disrupting compounds) in freshwater ecosystems, using in vivo and in vitro models, with strategies aligned with the principles of the 3Rs.

Nuno holds a Master’s Degree in Ecotoxicology and Risk Assessment from the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He is also completing his PhD degree in Biology/Ecotoxicology from the same institution.
