Patrícia Silva is a Research Assistant in the Integrated Micro and Nanotechnologies (IMiNa) research group at INL, working on the development of pyroelectric thin films. 

With a PhD in Biology (2025), an MSc in Biophysics and Bionanosystems, and a BSc in Biochemistry, Patrícia brings a multidisciplinary skill set that bridges materials science and microbiology. Her expertise lies in the development of thin films and coatings with functional properties for antimicrobial applications, as well as for biological and gas sensors. Patrícia has co-authored 9 peer-reviewed papers, including 4 as the lead author. She has presented her work at numerous conferences, organised scientific events, and received an award for best oral presentation. She is also trained in Project Management.
