Raquel Vaz is a Research Assistant at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, in the Pastrana Group, where she focuses on the development of more sustainable, healthy, and safe food systems using new and innovative technologies and materials. Moreover, she is currently finishing the submission of her PhD degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Coimbra. Before that, she completed a Bachelor´s degree in Biochemistry (2017) and a Master´s degree in Biomedical Engineering (2019), both at the University of Porto. Through the experience obtained, her main areas of knowledge encompass the development of biosensors, self-assembly deposition methodologies, nanomaterials synthesis, microfluidic devices based on natural or biopolymeric substrates, and polymer engineering.
