Sandipan Maiti

Research Scientist

Muñoz Research Group

Sandipan Maiti is a Research Scientist at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), specialising in developing cathode materials for advanced battery systems. Before this position, he held the role of senior postdoctoral researcher at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, working under the mentorship of Prof. Doron Aurbach. His research endeavours are concentrated on the creation of high-performance cathodes across various battery chemistries, including Ni-rich and Li & Mn-rich NCM, high-voltage LNMO spinel, and high-voltage LCO for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), as well as sodium-ion battery (SIB) cathodes of the NFM type. Sandipan's doctoral research at the CSIR-CGCRI and Jadavpur University focused on developing energy storage systems for both aqueous and non-aqueous electrolyte systems. His investigations encompassed supercapacitors (pseudocapacitors, hybrid supercapacitors), aqueous batteries, lithium-ion batteries (LIB), lithium-sulfur batteries, and lithium-air batteries.
