Tiago Magalhães

Postdoctoral Researcher

Sotomayor Research Group

Tiago Magalhães is currently working on phonon transport and dynamics in topological systems as part of the LEIT project.

He earned his PhD at the University of Lisbon, where he designed and validated an optical interferometric space-based instrument. Following this, he held two postdoctoral positions: first at the University of Porto, where he developed a few-cycle ultrafast laser oscillator and pulse shaper for nonlinear optical microscopy, and then at INL, where he focused on the design, simulation, nanofabrication, and optical characterisation of photonic integrated circuits for biosensing.
