Yury Kolenko
Research Scientist Group Leader

Yury holds both a Diploma and Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow State University (Moscow, Russia) under the judicious supervision of Prof. Bulat R. Churagulov.
He carried out three Postdocs:
1. Tokyo Institute of Technology with Prof. Masahiro Yoshimura
2. Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society with Dr. Annette Trunschke
3. University of Santiago de Compostela with Prof. José Rivas and Prof. M. Arturo López-Quintela
Yury is now a Tenured Group Leader of the Kolen'ko Research Group (http://nanochemgroup.org) at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (http://inl.int), located in Braga, Portugal.
He enjoys the synthesis and investigation of unconventional nanomaterials. Particular emphasis is placed on structure-property relationships in the nanoparticles and nanostructures. Additional efforts focus on developing new heterogeneous catalysts for various selective hydrogenation and coupling reactions.
His Google Scholar h-index is 43. Yury has given 20+ invited talks at international conferences, filed 4 patents, published 145+ papers, and 3 book chapters. Yury coordinates the European HORIZON EIC Pathfinder Open MemCat project (https://www.memcatproject.eu).
