Instituto de Biofabricación en Red para el Envejecimiento Saludable (IBEROSmais) aims to consolidate excellent research and innovation competencies in the Eurorregion in the field of Biofabrication, focusing on Organ and Tissue Engineering and personalized medicine.
IBEROSmais forms a multidisciplinary collaborative network among leading research groups and innovative companies, creating synergies that contribute to the creation of a European hub at the forefront of health knowledge and generate new market niches.
The IBEROSmais project mainly contributes to addressing the socio-health challenges posed by population aging in the Eurorregion and the EU in general. It also provides advanced solutions to other significant societal challenges, such as the shortage of organ and tissue donations, the development of low-cost and short-time drugs, the ethical commitment to reducing animal trials, and, finally, advancing the personalized medicine model using biofabricated tissues and organoids from the patient's cells. IBEROSmais's actions revolve around:
• Retaining, attracting, and settling talented and highly qualified individuals who contribute to strengthening the R&D&I ecosystem.
• Establishing a research and innovation network based on collaborative research between groups and companies.
• Exploring the transferability of advanced products/services to the market and creating an entrepreneurial fabric that constitutes a cross-border center of excellence.
