Renato Ribeiro
Laboratory Technician
Renato Ribeiro is a Laboratory Technician specialising in biomedical research. His primary responsibilities include supporting experimental workflows and contributing for the Bioanalyte detection using optofluidic systems.
He holds a master’s degree in biomedical engineering, with a specialization in Biomaterials, Rehabilitation, and Biomechanics. His master’s thesis focused on the development of a biosensor for the detection of biomarkers associated with sepsis, a severe clinical condition requiring rapid and accurate diagnosis. Through this work, he developed a fluorescence‑based detection method using magnetic nanoparticles to capture and identify specific biomarkers. This assay was integrated into an optofluidic platform that enhanced the sensitivity and accuracy of the biomarker detection process.
