Carlos is a Research Fellow working on the design of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, with a particular focus on CMOS circuit design for sensing and actuation systems.

He received his BSc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minho and is currently pursuing an MSc in Biomedical Engineering in the Medical Electronics track at the same institution. As part of his MSc work, he is developing a CMOS integrated circuit for driving micro-LEDs to improve dose uniformity in optogenetic therapy. His interests include analog integrated circuit design, mixed-signal systems, and biomedical electronic instrumentation.
