Juan Moya
Postdoctoral Researcher
Juan Sebastian Moya-Baquero is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher – IC Designer & Design Flow at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), where he designs CMOS analogue and digital circuits. He supports analogue, digital, and mixed-signal teams across the full design cycle, from schematic capture to layout and tapeout. He develops and maintains custom CMOS design flows using commercial and open-source EDA tools, creates and manages PDKs for multiple foundries and technology nodes, and automates design tasks using Python, Tcl, and Bash. He also integrates and validates tools such as Magic, KLayout, Xschem, ngspice, OpenROAD, and Sky130, collaborating with foundries and vendors to ensure robust and compatible workflows.
He holds a PhD in Electronics Engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander (2023), a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering focused on Integrated Circuits from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2016), and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (2011). His academic and research background spans analogue, mixed-signal, and RF IC design across advanced and open-source CMOS nodes.
