Staff Researcher

Nanomaterials for Energy Storage and Conversion

Manab Kundu is currently working as Staff Researcher in the Nanomaterials for Energy Storage and Conversion (NESC) group at INL. The main focus of his research is designing nanostructured electrode materials for supercapacitors and metal-ion batteries.

He has finished his Ph. D. in the field of lithium-ion battery from Jadavpur University, India in 2012. After finishing his Ph.D. he worked in various research institute in electrochemical energy storage technologies – three years as postdoctoral research fellow at International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) Portugal (2011-2014), one year as Young Scientist (research) at National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Moscow, Russia (2014-2015), two years as postdoctoral research fellow Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway (2015-2017). After that he joined as Research Assistant Professor at SRM Institute of science and Technology (SRMIST), India (2017-2022). From 2022 to 2023 he worked as Research Associate Professor at SRMIST. He has supervised two Ph.D. students (thesis submitted), eight master students and four bachelor students. He has published 60 papers in international journals.
