INL Hosts European Innovation Delegation During iCapital Awards 2025 Launch

Today, INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory – had the privilege of welcoming a distinguished delegation as part of the official launch of the 2025 edition of the European Capital of Innovation Awards (iCapital Awards), hosted this week in Braga.

The visit featured key representatives from the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), the European Commission Representation to Portugal, and city councils from across Europe, including Braga, Cascais, and Lviv.

The delegation was welcomed at INL for a strategic session highlighting INL’s competitive positioning within European funding programmes, followed by a guided visit to the laboratory’s state-of-the-art facilities.

The initiative reinforced Braga’s status as a rising hub of innovation, following its recognition as European Rising Innovative City at the 2024 iCapital Awards. As Jean-David Malo shared, “What an inspiring two days in Braga, a city at the heart of Europe’s innovation landscape… witnessing firsthand the incredible work driving Europe’s innovation future.”
