Portuguese MoD visits INL to explore new tech-based defense applications

The Minister of Defense (MoD) of the Government of Portugal, João Gomes Cravinho, made an official visit to the INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, with the aim to connect the scientific research performed here to the current and future challenges in the field of defence.

The Minister underlined that “this is a cutting edge laboratory and the defence industries are typically cutting edge. There is a whole range of research that is very interesting and that can be applied to the defence area”.

This initiative, organized within a decentralized Ministers’ Council in Bragança, on the 27th of February, had also the presence of Henrique Macedo, President of the Portuguese Defense Industries (IdD).

Minister João Cravinho and several members of his cabinet had the chance to contact with INL researchers from scientific areas such as Information and Communication Technologies, 2D Materials, Food Safety, and Food Processing, and also Nanochemistry.
