António Oliveira
PhD Student
António is a PostDoctoral Researcher in Salomé's group at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL). Currently, he is working within a Horizon-Europe project, Hi-BITS, in which he is developing light management schemes to integrate in ultrathin and bifacial CIGS solar cells. António obtained his PhD in Physics Engineering at the University of Aveiro and INL in 2025. Within his PhD, António worked on the development of passivation and light management schemes in chalcogenide thin-film solar cell devices, with the finality of using them to increase the opto-electronic performance. In 2023, António was awarded a Fulbright Grant for Research with the support of FCT, in the scope of which he underwent a 4-month research stay at the Institute of Energy Conversion in the University of Delaware, where he developed an optical library for CdSeTe thin films. Currently, António has 14 papers in peer-reviewed journals. António concluded his Integrated Master's degree in Micro and Nanotechnologies Engineering at NOVA School of Science and Technology in November 2019. During his Master's, António underwent a 6-month ERASMUS+ project at Aalborg University in the Nanophysics and Materials Master. His Master thesis was performed at the International Iberian Nanotechnology laboratories (INL) where he developed novel light management structures for ultra-thin chalcogenide solar cells.
