Atomic Structure - Composition of Materials

Hong Yin is a Research Fellow at the Atomic Structure-Composition of Materials group under the supervision of Dr Paulo Ferreira. His project entitled “Hybrid solid electrolyte for safer rechargeable sodium batteries with higher energy density – HySoBatt” involves replacing the flammable liquid electrolyte with a solid one that will significantly improve the battery’s safety. This project is funded by the Postdoctoral Fellowships – Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.

He received his PhD degree in Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in (2014 – 2017). He was a postdoctoral researcher at HUST (2017 – 2019) and the University of Macau (2019 – 2021). He has authored/co-authored more than forty peer-reviewed publications and is a joint inventor of 16 granted patents.
