Mariam Debs
Chief
Mariam Gonzalez Debs is the Chief Operations Officer of the Research, Technology and Innovation (RTI) Office at INL. This office holds the Programme Management Unit and the Communication, Conference, and Marketing Unit. Together, this office handles operations that enable research and engineering groups to execute projects, extract and capitalise on added value from project deliverables, and integrate competencies from various scientific areas.
She holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, in the area of compound semiconductor nanodiffusion, and has prior industrial experience working at high-volume manufacturing facilities overseas for fab start-up, technology transfer, and process improvements. At INL, Mariam worked until 2018 as Facility Manager in the Micro and Nanofabrication Facility in process development and equipment health for the areas of photolithography and chemical mechanical polishing, also serving as a liaison between the nanofabrication and nanocharacterization. Throughout her career at INL since 2009, she has been very involved with the outreach efforts of bringing scientific developments to an equal level of understanding and interaction for all citizens.
