Mohammadmahdi Faraji

Research Fellow
Integrated Micro and Nanotechnologies

Mohammadmahdi Faraji is a Research Fellow at INL. He joined the Integrated Micro and Nanotechnologies group of INL in April 2021. His focus is on designing and developing digital electronic systems for MEMS controllers.

In 2020, he received his PhD in Digital Systems from the electrical engineering department of Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. His works revolve around digital systems, digital signal processing, embedded systems and FPGA implementation. For his PhD project, he has proposed a new distributed sound source localization system based on designing an acoustic sensor node. Using the designed sensor nodes and by proposing a novel fuzzy fusion algorithm, the location of sound source in wide range outdoor environments has successfully been estimated in real-time.
He also received his MSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the electrical engineering department of the Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2013. In his MSc project, he designed and implemented a distributed acoustic source localizer system based on WSN platform.
