GreenAuto
Green Innovation for the Automotive Industry
The GreenAuto Agenda aims to transform the national automotive industry in the transition towards low-emission vehicles. To achieve this, it proposes the creation of technical and operational conditions for Stellantis Mangualde to commence the production of a new light commercial vehicle (LCV) in Portugal, precisely a battery electric light commercial vehicle (BE-LCV), while simultaneously ensuring a high level of domestic incorporation. To accomplish this goal, 10 work packages (WP) have been designed: WP1 focuses on preparing the factory for the production of the BE-LCV; WP2 to 7 concentrate on the development of innovative components and systems for electric vehicles (e.g., energy-efficient systems, lighter components); WP8 to 10 focus on the development of production technology (e.g., collaborative robotics, inspection systems) that will reduce the production cost of electric vehicles, which is currently higher than the cost of manufacturing thermal cars.
In this Agenda, INL will collaborate directly with the following partner organizations: Copo Têxtil Portugal, S.A.; FEUP – Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto; GBT – Embedded Solutions, Lda.; INESC MN – Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores para os Microsistemas e Nanotecnologias; ISQ&CTAG, Automotive Technologies, Lda.; Sentinel Concept – Unipessoal, Lda.; Universidade da Beira Interior; Universidade de Coimbra; Universidade do Minho; 4ITEC Lusitânia, S.A.
