RUBYCHIP distinguished at the ‘The Best & Biggest of Technological Portugal’ Awards by ‘Exame Informática’

The ‘RUBYchip’ RUBYnanomed’s product, was distinguished last week with the Innovation award in the ‘Os Melhores & As Maiores do Portugal Tecnológico’ awards. Annually, Exame Informática, with the support of VISÃO, distinguishes those in Portugal who do more for Science and Technology and one of their main missions is to amplify the creation of knowledge and the generation of technologically-based wealth.

Rubychip is non-invasive, easy to use, and without requiring a large blood sample. This chip, born at the INL – International Nanotechnology Laboratory, represents a completely innovative method of performing liquid biopsies and anticipating the appearance of metastases. In order to bring the technology to market, the start-up RUBYnanomed, a spin-off from INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, is one of 65 European SMEs that will receive €7 million to accelerate the development of unique solutions in areas such as healthcare and biotechnology through the support of the EIC Accelerator program from the European Innovation Council.
