INL researcher Miguel Cerqueira is one of the most-cited scientists in the world

Miguel Cerqueira, a researcher from INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory Nano4Food Group is one of the Highly Cited Researchers, according to the Highly Cited Researchers 2019 list from the Web of Science Group, released on November 21st 2019.

This highly anticipated list identifies scientists and social scientists who produced multiple papers ranking in the top 1% by citations for their field and year of publication, demonstrating significant research influence among their peers.

The methodology that determines the who’s who of influential researchers draws on the data and analysis performed by bibliometric experts from the Institute for Scientific Information at the Web of Science Group.

Miguel Cerqueira, listed in the Agricultural Sciences category, is “very pleased to hear that I am part of this group of scientists and it is certainly very gratifying to be one of the Portuguese in the ranking. I hope to continue to conduct reference research for the scientific community and that it can also be useful for our society.”

The data are taken from 21 broad research fields within Essential Science Indicators, a component of InCites.
