Hundreds of people from all ages and backgrounds learned a bit more about what INL is and does during the first two days of Noite Branca – Braga 2019, one of the most participated street festivals in Portugal.

Last 6th and 7th of September, dozens of INL researchers and collaborators took several experiences to the main avenue of Braga and explained how science makes its magic. From moving a car with hydrogen to taking pharmaceutical pollutants from water, to purify water with sunlight, or even how to use magnetic sensors for many daily applications.

The visitors had the possibility to interact with INL Researchers, to ask all the questions they wanted – some of them were tough – and get to know what some of the work that INL research groups are doing at our laboratory, for the benefit of society.

This activity was also the perfect pre-event activity to promote the European Researchers Night, that will be held on September 27th, 2019 at Espinho Multimedia Center, where INL will also be present.

By participating in outreach activities like Noite Branca, the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory aims to take science closer to everyone and decrease the distance between Researchers and the general public.
