High-Level Conference on Intellectual Property

The free conference “The Intellectual Property metamorphosis in the Digital Transition Age” will take place virtually on February 11th, with the participation of Ulf Håkanson – Chief Officer IP Exploitation & Knowledge Transfer at INL.Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union

Within the frame of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, INPI – Portuguese Institute of Industrial Property is organizing a High- Level Conference on Intellectual Property and Digital Transition that will occur on February 11th. The theme of the Conference will be “The Intellectual Property metamorphosis in the Age of Digital Transition – Remember the past, Act in the Present, and Reflect on the challenges of the Future”.

This high-level event aims to reflect on the importance of Intellectual Property (IP) in the European context, by debating IP-related contemporary matters and taking into consideration the need to accelerate the digital transition and regard it as a driver for economic recovery and promotion of the digital transformation of businesses.

Now – more than ever – it is important to debate on the significance of the digital world as a cluster of opportunities that brings people and services closer together, on a principle of proximity, that overcomes the constraints arising from possible distances, both geographical and those caused by the pandemic that we currently face.
