INL DG in the official launch of the Horizon Europe Program

INL Director-General was one of the invited speakers in the afternoon panel of the event promoted by the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union to launch the Horizon Europe Program, this February 2nd, which is the EU’s most ambitious R&I framework program ever and the largest transnational program of its kind worldwide, with a 95.4 billion euro budget.

Lars Montelius highlighted the role of INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory in addressing the current and future European challenges, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and mobility, always with a collaboration mindset through worldwide partnerships “to perform excellent research and translate technology to the market”, also emphasizing the relevance of competitive EU funds in achieving such goals.

The program that follows the steps of Horizon 2020 was presented in a live online event that can be revisited here on Youtube.

It had the presence of Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, and Manuel Heitor, Portuguese Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education, as well as of many European policymakers and researchers that acknowledged the relevance of the Horizon Europe Program in accelerating scientific research in Europe in the years to come.
